Real Bride Style: Dane & Joanne: The Reception

Guests enjoyed canapes and champagne in one of the many pretty rooms at the Q Station, taking in the eclectic sounds of Sydney 3-piece band Mimesis who had the crowd cheering for an encore.

Wedding photos of the couple’s parents decorated the mantle, along with Emerald Caramels, the favourite sweetie of Jo’s Nanna which guests were invited to try.

The place-settings doubled as a meaningful gesture with the couple penning a personal note to every guest.

“I just wanted to do something nice for everyone to let them know that we appreciated them being part of our special day, and as there was only 43 people it was a feasible idea”

Real Bride Style: Dane & Joanne: The Ceremony

Dane & Jo chose an outdoor ceremony on the lawn of the historic Q Station Manly, the former Quarantine Station for Australian migrants.

The couple exchanged vows in a circle of fresh flowers, filled with beautiful meaning as each guest had been requested to bring a bloom to the ceremony.

Real Bride Style: Dane & Joanne

The morning of Dane & Jo’s January wedding was bright and sunny, a typical Sydney Summer day. This was good news for the outdoor ceremony the couple had planned, and even better news for the bride’s family who were visiting from Ireland for the occasion.

Jo found the perfect dress at Clarissa Grace in Caringbah,  falling in love with the prettily named ‘Paint Me a Dream’ gown.

“I liked the romantic feel to my dress, and the flow of it, especially the ruffles at the bottom and the different tones in the ruffles”

Jo’s three bridesmaids; her sister and two best friends wore butterfly print frocks, chosen for their unusual print and summery feel.

A simple shape was important with 2 of the 3 girls living overseas however the dresses fit perfectly and flattered each maid.

To come- join us later today for Dane & Jo’s intimate ceremony and reception.

Rosalynn Win- Australian Bridal Fashion Designer

Up and coming bridal couture designer Rosalynn Win’s bridal creations are traditional, each has a beautiful unique twist.

A stylish one-shouldered gown with pleated skirt is given a special touch with a subtle print detail.

This exquisite lace gown is as beautiful from the back as it is from the front. The ruffled skirt and short train create an elegant line.

Classic in its simplicity this strapless gown is my favourite.

Delicate embellishment around the neckline and a flattering style with layers falling from the back make this gown something special.

Sea Farm Open Day: Part 1

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending an open day at the stunning wedding and holiday venue Sea Farm at Copacabana (on NSW’s Central Coast). The lovely and talented Stephanie, owner of the Sea Farm property as well as gorgeous jewellery boutique Fletcher & Grace gathered a collection of wedding industry professionals to showcase their talents on the day.

I took in some great wedding ideas as well as fell in love with Sea Farm’s unique country/seaside charm.

A marquee on the entertaining deck on the home made an impressive first impression as we drove down the tree-lined driveway.

Inside the marquee, the scene was set for an intimate reception. The airy and light-filled space was themed with pretty shades of green. Mirrored centerpieces reflected cream David Austin roses and tealight candles.

Part 2 including stunning ceremony ideas coming soon.

Luxurious Marquees & Styling

To me a marquee reception invokes a feeling of excitement, wondering what magical world awaits inside the elegant white dome. When an email from Splendid Days popped into my inbox I was blown away with their ingenious transformations.

Outdoor lounges, a sophisticated bar and tailored styling truly makes these marquees luxurious and elegant and has been dreaming of a chic cocktail party the beach, a garden soiree with Pimms and croquet or a formal dinner under a glamorous chandelier.

Daily Wedding Inspiration: Wedding Cakes

Delia and Randy celebrated with a spectacular 9-tier wedding cake, a lovely way to commemorate their 09-01-06 anniversary. The impressive cake was decorated in hundreds of fresh roses, lilies and hydrangeas in keeping with the Enchanted Forest reception theme.
