Mondays Muse: Milla Jovovich

Beautiful Milla Jovovich married her partner of 6 years, director Paul W.S. Anderson in an intimate sunset ceremony in the garden of their Beverly Hills home.

Wearing a 60′s style gown that she designed herself and a traditional veil, Milla carried a bouquet of red flowers and was attended by the couple’s daughter Ever Gabo.

A Cuban band entertained guests during the cocktail-style ceremony.

Red Carpet Inspiration: The Emmys

Just a few favourites from the 2009 Emmy’s. The sweetheart and strapless necklines reigned supreme and the pale colours below inspire a twist on traditional white.

What are your favourites?

Monday’s Muse: Emily Blunt

Striking actress Emily Blunt models Spring 2009 couture for the pages of Vanity Fair. The romantic styling, soft hair and make-up perfectly complements her porcelain skin. The perfect Spring muse.

Monday’s Muse: Rebecca Romijn’s Country Wedding

When Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell invited friends and family to a ‘special barbeque’, guests were surprised with a romantic, laidback ‘Summer Picnic’ wedding at the couple’s Calabasas ranch just outside Los Angeles.

The country feel of the day was carried through to even the smallest details. Rebecca’s bouquet of white flowers was wrapped in gingham and twine.

A loose, ‘half-up’ hairstyle complemented her relaxed style on the day.

Hay bales covered in eclectic throws provided seating and baskets filled with coloured flip flops saved guests feet.
Mini-country apple and red velvet cupcakes satisfied the sweet tooth in lieu of a traditional cake.

Even the couple’s dogs dressed for the occasion (pictured here with Rebecca’s Sergio Rossi heels)

Belle’s Wedding on Home & Away

Home & Away (an Aussie soap opera for international readers) isn’t usually my cup of tea however I had to tune in last night to get a glimpse of Belle in ‘my’ dress.
Pallas Brides created a beautiful cream and black crushed silk organza dress. It had a silk organza overlay with a silk satin underlay. The crushed torn look kept it raw and edgy to suit Belle’s character.

Her pearl drop earings were also by Pallas Brides and her cream and grey snake skin sling back shoes were from London Rebel.” - Home & Away

I loved the combination of the dark floral bouquet and the hint of black ruffle in Belle’s hair.

Monday’s Muse: Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker is undoubtedly a modern Style Queen however I just love this shot of her and husband Matthew Broderick just after their 1996 wedding.

Doesn’t the expression on her face just capture everything you want to feel and experience on your wedding day?
Her gorgeous black dress and untamed curls are a product of not wanting to draw paparazzi attention to their wedding however their happiness and her unique sense of style shine through.

Monday’s Muse: Georgina Chapman

Georgina Chapman, co-designer of the Marchesa label and wife of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is beautiful, talented and stylish which makes her todays muse.

Georgina’s own style inspiration, Marchesa Luisa Casati was such an influence she named her label after her.
Marchesa Luisa Casati was an Italian aristocrat known for walking the streets of Venice naked beneath her furs, with her pair of pet cheetahs on diamond leashes which meant she had a reputation for scandal!

Monday’s Muse: Tanya Linney

When I was a teenager reading Dolly and Girlfriend mags (my love of mags started early), one of my favourite models was Tanya Linney. Needless to say when I spotted her wedding in Madison magazine I pored over the pics. 15 years later and she is still as gorgeous as ever.

Tanya’s beautiful dress is from Pallas (which is where I am getting my dress BTW).
I just love this shot- classic bride and so glamorous.

Exchanging vows. Tanya’s simple up-do perfectly complements the lace-trimmed mantilla veil.

Embracing outside the church- so romantic- and gorgeous flowers!

To me, these photos perfectly capture the happiness of the day and Tanya and her photograher husband Simon look like they are having so much fun and really enjoying themselves which is what it’s all about after all!

Red Carpet Inspiration

at the 66th Annual Golden Globes. These awards are known to be a good indication for nominees and winners of the Oscars which really is the big event for the film industry.
The fashion reflects this of course with actresses wearing the ‘Second best dress’ to the Globes. This year I think you can really tell. Nothing blows me away, but here are a few I liked as inspiration for wedding frocks. Enjoy.

Sandra Bullock’s softly draped fish-tail with one shoulder is so flattering and elegant.

I love the colour of ‘Miss Golden Globe’, Rumor Willis. Would make a great colour for a bridesmaid dress.
How pretty is Olivia Wilde’s fluffy pink gown? I particularly love the detail on the bodice.

The black and white of Melissa George’s gown is so striking. The spilt shows just the right hint of her leg.

Definitely a favourite for me! Kate Beckinsale poses perfectly in a fish-tail. Her earrings are always make such a glam statement.

I have no idea what Jane Krakowski (since Ally McBeal) is in these days but she looks amazing in this slim cut gown.

Beautiful Aussie Isla Fischer doesn’t disappoint with this one-shouldered champagne gown. We are definitely seeing the one-shoulder style coming back into fashion.

How hot are Heidi and Seal? Heidi’s outfit is just so fun and girly. I’d love to wear something similar to a black-tie function.

Eva Mendes = HOT! Loving the turquoise necklace which complements her skin tone and white dress and makes a nice change from the usual diamonds.
I for one am looking forward to the Oscars fashion for more fabulous gowns.
