Better late than never, we are rounding up some more of our favourites from New York Bridal Fashion Week Spring 2012.

Lace detailing and classic silhouettes defined the Provonias 2011 Spring Collection.

Modern Trousseau
Fun and feminine, simple silhouettes with lace and ruffles.

Christos
Beautiful in their simplicity, these are gowns for the classic bride. I personally love the focus on the waist.

Carolina Herrera
Traditional silhouettes meets modern detailing at Carolina Herrera. Just two of my favourites.

So simple, so gorgeous. Love the glamorous hair and dramatic lip of the models too!

Vera Wang- New York Bridal Spring Fashion Week 2012

Vera Wang, arguably the reigning queen of bridal did not disappoint with her Spring 2012 collection for New York Bridal Fashion Week.
Feminine silhouettes in soft tones of blush, ivory, taupe and mint floated down the runway, with structured bodices gave a modern edge to layer upon layer of tulle.

I know it’s hard to pick, but which one’s your favourite?

Real Bride Style: Felicty & Tom’s Mission Beach Wedding- Part 1

“Tom said he knew I was the woman he was going to marry from the moment he saw me…. ahhh”

That moment was a photo shoot back in 2006 when Felicity, then Deputy Editor of Cosmopolitan magazine, was the envy of the office, shooting some of the country’s top men in sport. It was meant to be, with Tom, an AFL team captain deciding then and there that he had met the girl he would one day marry. A romantic New Years Eve proposal on holiday in Tahiti led to an 18 month engagement with the couple planning the wedding and navigating a long distance relationship. The couple racked up the frequent flyer points as Felcity was in Sydney launching Women’s Health magazine to great success and Tom leading his AFL team to victory in the AFL Grand Final.

3 years after that fateful meeting, the couple exchanged vows on Queensland’s Mission Beach with 155 family and friends bearing witness to the occassion.

Some 20 gowns later, Felicity decided on the stunning Johanna Johnson gown ‘Viva’, which had actually been the 2nd dress she’d tried on!

‘I spotted Joh’s dresses in a magazine and knew that was the style I wanted- something slim fitting, gorgeous and perhaps with a vintage feel. ‘

Designer Johanna Johnson customised the gown by adding crystal embellishment to the bottom V at the back and at the front of the shoulders.

3 weeks before the wedding, right when the bridesmaids had started to worry they would be walking down the aisle naked, the Summer ranges dropped into  stores. These blush pink Zimmerman dresses were worth the wait, adding a pop of colour to the day.

The stunning gown was further embellished with an embellished tulle ‘bangle’.

While Felicity and her maids prepped, Tom and his groomsman enjoyed a calming bottle of bubbles and took in the day, true to Tom’s characteristic laidback style.

Tom’s custom made Patrick Johnson suit was personalised with patterned lining and personalised embroidery that read ‘T & F. Serendipity’.

The groomsman also wore Patrick Johnson suits, minus the jacket, in keeping with the tropical locale and nontraditional feel of the day.

Later today, Felicity and Tom exchange vows in a heartfelt beach ceremony.

Marchesa Fall 2011 Collection

Regular readers will be familiar with my Marchesa love affair and the Fall 2011 collection is no exception.

The decaying opulence of Great Expectations was the inspiration for Marchesa’s latest collection. An ode to the Victorian era, the collection featured slightly ripped tulle alongside a strong lace motif via delicate embroidery and beading.

WEDDING GUEST STYLE GUIDE

Be inspired by our top ten wedding guest dresses, perfect for any style of occasion and hopefully the answer of the eternal ‘what to wear’ question that plagues us all. Whether the dress code is Black Tie, Cocktail, Garden chic or Beach glamour.

Black Tie

Think old Hollywood glamour for a black tie wedding. Halston Heritage, synonymous with chic glam, is an ideal choice for those attending a black tie event where formal cocktail dresses, full length gowns and tuxedos are fitting. For a shorter length, try Australian design duo Camilla & Marc’s ultra feminine take on the oriental-style cut using a pastel palette.

Halston Heritage One-Shoulder Knot Gown (Aussies- try Shopbop or Neiman Marcus)

Camilla & Marc Cutout Back Silk Faille Dress

Luxe Buy: J. Mendel Fur and Tulle Bolero & Ruched Jersey Gown

Cocktail

A cocktail wedding invites semi-formal attire where ladies don glam frocks that are shorter (and can be a little more casual), than their black tie counterpart. Keep it sophisticated with Karla Spetic or Aminaka Wilmont.
