Some of New Zealand’s most talented designers will be showcasing at the event. Just a few of my favourites;

Jane Yeh, known for her stylish, romantic designs.

Vinka Design’s are handmade and known for their exquisite detail.

Marchesa Fall 2011 Collection

Regular readers will be familiar with my Marchesa love affair and the Fall 2011 collection is no exception.

The decaying opulence of Great Expectations was the inspiration for Marchesa’s latest collection. An ode to the Victorian era, the collection featured slightly ripped tulle alongside a strong lace motif via delicate embroidery and beading.

WEDDING GUEST STYLE GUIDE

Be inspired by our top ten wedding guest dresses, perfect for any style of occasion and hopefully the answer of the eternal ‘what to wear’ question that plagues us all. Whether the dress code is Black Tie, Cocktail, Garden chic or Beach glamour.

Black Tie

Think old Hollywood glamour for a black tie wedding. Halston Heritage, synonymous with chic glam, is an ideal choice for those attending a black tie event where formal cocktail dresses, full length gowns and tuxedos are fitting. For a shorter length, try Australian design duo Camilla & Marc’s ultra feminine take on the oriental-style cut using a pastel palette.

Halston Heritage One-Shoulder Knot Gown (Aussies- try Shopbop or Neiman Marcus)

Luxe Buy: J. Mendel Fur and Tulle Bolero & Ruched Jersey Gown

Cocktail

A cocktail wedding invites semi-formal attire where ladies don glam frocks that are shorter (and can be a little more casual), than their black tie counterpart. Keep it sophisticated with Karla Spetic or Aminaka Wilmont.

Carla Zampatti Wedding Dresses: Autumn 2011

The Autumn 2011 collection from Carla Zampatti features voluminous silhouettes in gorgeous organza fabrics. Perfect for the fashionable bride-to-be who wants a sophisticated look for her wedding day.

Oscar de la Renta Bridal Gown

Regular readers will know that ruffles truly are the way to my heart, so when I laid eyes on this Oscar de la Renta ball-gown with its voluminous ruffled skirt and feminine tulle detail I knew I had to share it with you.

Johanna Johnson Trosseau Collection

Trosseau: The possessions, such as clothing and linens, that a bride assembles for her marriage.

This romantic Old French word and the romantic visions it conjures clearly struck Australian designer Johanna Johnson leading her to create this glamorously feminine collection.

Dramatic feather capes, Victorian-inspired boleros with puffed sleeves and an heirloom-worthy tulle veil are all breathtaking, but it’s the french lace mini dresses I am coveting!

These gorgeous frocks with their delicate french lace, Swarovski jewels and delicate beading would make the most stunning short wedding dress ever. Being traditional however, either would make the perfect dress for the engagement party or reception.

Which is your favourite? And where would you wear it?

Available online from Johanna Johnson.
