ORNATE FRENCH WEDDING STYLING IDEAS
My personal favourite style and what has become a wedding classic, French details are romantic and timeless. Crystal glassware is the ultimate luxe experience for guests and a decoration in itself when combined with candlelight. So beautifully atmospheric.

MORROCCAN THEME WEDDING STYLING
Majestic and opulent, a Morroccan theme is lavish with rich colours and decorative ornaments like pretty amber glassware and velvet cushions to transform the space to a bedouin tent.
If your style is more bohemian, incorporate the ornate lanterns with rustic wooden furniture and embroidered scatter cushions.

Real Wedding Style: Lindsay & Parker’s Duke Chapel and Cotton Room Wedding

The ornate features of the neo-Gothic Duke Chapel created a formal, yet beautifully atmospheric scene for the Lindsay and Parker’s wedding ceremony. Traditional with modern splashes of hot-pink and green, the North Carolina couple created a heartfelt yet fun day.

Pink lighting continued the theme whilst accentuating the beautiful exposed brick of the venue and creating an intimate atmosphere.

Real Bride Style: Kiri & Mitchell’s Sylvan Glen Wedding

Kiri and Mitchell chose the beautiful surrounds of Sylvan Glen in Southern Highlands of NSW for their wedding day. Despite envisaging a relaxed outdoor ceremony, the weather was just not going their way.
But, taking it in their stride, they focused on what was important and the result was a heartfelt ceremony in front of their loved ones who huddled under umbrellas, thankfully laughing at the situation.

Kiri looked absolutely beautiful wearing ‘The Isla’, a stunning Johanna Johnson gown which she accessorised with a delicately beaded headpiece of french tulle, also by Johanna Johnson and a bright bouquet of roses and lotus pods.

Event styling team, She Designs created the intimate garden setting which despite the rain looked elegant and fresh.

While the rain fell, Kiri and Mitchell exchanged vows, with Kiri’s aunt officiating, adding to the personal feel of the day.

The stunning gardens of Sylvan Glen provided the backdrop for the wedding party photos, whilst stylish black and clear umbrellas where a necessary accessory!

Photographer Janine Kaye embraced the rain, capturing the most beautiful memories that the couple will treasure forever. I love the unique take on the classic ring shot below.

The picturesque homestead with it’s beautiful bush vista and twinkling fairy lights hosted an elegant reception and indulgent candy bar. The chill-out room featured family shots which added another personal touch to the day.

Thank you so much to Kiri and Mitchell for allowing us to share in their day as well as photographer Janine Kaye.

Daily Wedding Inspiration: Dessert Buffet by CakeInk

This gorgeous dessert buffet and accompanying table-setting is just the thing for an afternoon garden wedding or engagement party. The versatile lemon theming- used both for the colour and to create the delicious sounding menu- is both chic and fresh.

The touches of D.I.Y- the sweet cake flags , chalkboard and unique dessert jars add to the charm of the setting.

The custom designed placecards and coasters are stylish and personal while the centrepiece of fresh lemons ties the theme back.

Real Bride Style: Rachel & Dan’s Milton Park Wedding Reception

Rachel and Daniel loved the idea of a french provincial style wedding reception with a classic black, ivory and dusty rose theme with a modern twist. The wish-list also included lots of candles and flowers in the reception room and a breathtaking venue with extended gardens. Milton Park was the answer.

Cake designer Faye Cahill designed the 3-tier black and ivory cake to complement the colour scheme. Pearlised champagne icing with a black ribbon trim, finished with a bow and beautiful vintageĀ  buckle. The lace detailing matched Rachel’s dress while ivory sugar flowers completed the look.

Delicate crystal fragrance bottles were a special gift for each guest, the crystal complementing the venues chandeliers

The dessert table featured decorative apothecary jars filled with traditional sweets and lollipops.

Vintage style birdcages filled with an abundance of Spring flowers made for stunning centrepieces and decorations around the room, bringing the beautiful floral gardens of the venue inside.

Rachel, Daniel and their guests celebrated well into the night with dancing becoming a very serious business!

Rachel and Dan spent their first 5 weeks as husband and wife with a trip of a lifetime to Dubai, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and Fiji.

Felicity & Tom’s Mission Beach Wedding- Part 2

Felicity & Tom exchanged vows in an afternoon ceremony on Mission Beach followed by poolside celebrations at The Elandra. Felicity created a modern, elegant feel for the ceremony and reception with fresh white and vibrant orange complementing the stunning location and spectacular view.

Angela, Felicity’s talented sister designed the simple black, white and orange stationery suite which set the tone for the stylish, fun day.

Orange paper lanterns gave a the white folding chairs a spash of colour while cones filled with rose petals in pinks, creams and tangerines were given to guests to toss at the newlyweds.

The natural beautiful setting of The Elandra and Mission Beach served as a stunning backdrop to the couples photos. The result; relaxed romance.

Felicity, Tom and their bridal party enjoyed the sand between their toes and hammed it up for the cameras.

The poolside reception was relaxing and picturesque- the perfect holiday wedding feel. The vibrant orange was complemented by baby pink and the receptions tropical green and blue vista.

Each table was named after a location close to the couple’s hearts while the simple Calla Lily centrepieces were elegant and modern. “I wanted the flowers to be simple and clean- no greenery!” – Felicity

Good-Luck Elephant statues and inviting day beds line the luxurious pool area creating an exotic and alluring atmosphere.

The Elandra’s African colonial influence mixed with Middle Eastern flair and Mediterranean elegance is evident with the eclectic mix of fabric and furniture throughout the resort.

The couple eschewed a traditional cake, with guests enjoying Tom’s favourite ice-cream, mini Magnums. Dessert was also served with a favourite of Felicity’s- a jumbo-sized chocolate freckle, and an invitation to a post wedding brunch.

Thank you to Felicity & Tom for sharing their gorgeous wedding with us and congratulations!

Real Bride Style: Kelly & Britain: The Reception

Kelly and Britain’s wedding celebrations continued ‘under a tree’ with their 60 guests dining under the stars. An eclectic mix of glass jars served as vases for clusters of roses which gave the table-settings a hand-picked feel. A live band, sumptuous dessert table and strings of lights throughout the trees created a relaxed yet magical feel to the day.

Wedding Styling Inspiration: Candy Bars

Whether it be for dessert, bomboniere or a scrumptious centrepiece, lolly bars are a gorgeous (and yummy) way to add a point of difference to your wedding day, engagement party or bridal shower.

I for one had the best of intentions for my wedding however when it to organising the jars and lollies as well as stressing about who would set it up and style it beautifully on the day I gave up on the idea as it all seemed a bit hard!

When I heard that A Lavish Affair can design, style and theme a candy bar specifically for your event I just had to share it with you busy brides. This Melbourne based company creates sophisticated stylish events and can bring your vision to life.

Real Bride Style: Dane & Joanne: The Reception

Guests enjoyed canapes and champagne in one of the many pretty rooms at the Q Station, taking in the eclectic sounds of Sydney 3-piece band Mimesis who had the crowd cheering for an encore.

Wedding photos of the couple’s parents decorated the mantle, along with Emerald Caramels, the favourite sweetie of Jo’s Nanna which guests were invited to try.

The place-settings doubled as a meaningful gesture with the couple penning a personal note to every guest.

“I just wanted to do something nice for everyone to let them know that we appreciated them being part of our special day, and as there was only 43 people it was a feasible idea”
