Vera Wang Fall 2012: Black Wedding Dresses

Her name alone conjours images of fresh faced brides and timeless white wedding gowns, so when Vera Wang sends models clad in swathes of deconstructed chiffon, organza and tulle- in the decidedly nontraditional shades of ebony and nude- you just know that we’ll be seeing much more drama on the catwalk, and aisles this season. Is black the new white for weddings?

But, this gorgeous girl did it first in a stunning lace Rhonda Hemmingway gown (almost a year ago!) and to celebrate her first wedding anniversary, we’ll be sharing her pics with you oh so soon!

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012

Spring/Summer Fashion Week is showing in New York this week and we’ve edited our picks from the collections of some of our favourite designers to inspire you. Whether it was sculptural ruffles, fluid shapes or pops of colour, the looks were glamorous and feminine.

Jenny Packham
Feminine elegance ruled at Jenny Packham, reminding us why The Duchess of  Cambridge is a fan. Silhouettes were flattering, with attention drawn to the waist.

Carolina Herrera
The glamour of the 1930′s inspired Carolina Herrera’s collection. Simple silhouettes are transformed by deco prints, beading and modern bright colours for an effortlessly chic look. Oh, how I covet the emerald green gown!

Vera Wang
The Vera Wang collection with its neon brights, transparent fabrics and wild patterns, was apparently inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

Rachel Zoe
Expectations were high for Rachel Zoe’s S/S 2012 collection, and whilst we’d expect nothing but a billion per cent glamour from the world’s most famous stylist, she certainly delivered. My favourite? The ruffled sleeve gown in the middle. And I can certainly see many a Summer bride in the strapless chiffon gown.

Marchesa

Marchesa never fails to impress, and Spring 2012 was big on drama with elaborate, sculptural designs in decadent fabrics. Brides, which gown would you choose?

Autumn Inspired Designer Wedding Dress by Jason Grech

Wedding dress designer, Jason Grech’s stunning new season collection is inspired by his Autumn in his home city of Melbourne. The gowns are adorned with leaf motifs everywhere – soft silk leaves, leaf embroidery on tulle and the label’s signature Swarovski crystal detailing.
“I love walking through the autumn leaves in the crisp Melbourne weather” says Jason. “Leaves are so beautiful – I really feel that they’re more unique than flowers.”

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week 2012: Alex Perry

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week kicked off in Sydney this week, showcasing the best Australian fashion has to offer. Perennial Amour Amour favourite, Alex Perry didn’t disappoint with his ‘Cuban Princess’ collection. Vibrant colours, sexy silhouettes and high voltage glamour. Fabulous inspiration for the bride, bridesmaid or black tie guest.

I’d love to see a bridesmaid in that gorgeous black floral design… that or wear it to a wedding myself! What are your favourites?
